{"id":18321,"date":"2026-01-21T16:58:44","date_gmt":"2026-01-21T11:28:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/helpcenter.nexterp.in\/helpcenter\/?p=18321"},"modified":"2026-02-12T16:17:44","modified_gmt":"2026-02-12T10:47:44","slug":"how-can-i-change-the-prefix-or-starting-number-of-fee-receipt-auto-numbering","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/helpcenter.nexterp.in\/helpcenter\/how-can-i-change-the-prefix-or-starting-number-of-fee-receipt-auto-numbering\/","title":{"rendered":"How can I change the prefix or starting number of fee receipt auto-numbering?"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can update the fee receipt prefix and starting number from the autonumbering settings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Steps to Update :<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Navigate to: <strong>Settings &gt; Finance &gt; Fee<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click on <strong>Fee Autonumbering Sequence<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select the <strong>academic session<\/strong> for which you want to update the receipt numbering<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click on the <strong>three dots<\/strong> next to the Fee Receipt sequence and choose <strong>Edit<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Update the <strong>Prefix<\/strong> and <strong>Starting Number<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click <strong>Update<\/strong> to apply changes<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Important Notes:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Prefix and starting number can only be changed <strong>before<\/strong> any fee receipts are generated for that session.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Once receipts are generated:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Prefix <strong>cannot be changed<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Starting number <strong>can be increased<\/strong>, but <strong>cannot be decreased<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Video Tutorial : <\/h3>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-video\"><video controls src=\"https:\/\/helpcenter.nexterp.in\/helpcenter\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/B45-02_How-can-the-prefix-or-starting-number-of-fee-receipt-numbering-be-changed_1.mp4\"><\/video><\/figure>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>You can update the fee receipt prefix and starting number from the autonumbering settings.
