You can define this for three different scenarios:<\/p>\n<p><b>\u00a01. Holiday Preceding Leave<\/b>: This applies when a holiday falls immediately before your leave.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Select <b>Holiday<\/b> if the day should be treated as a holiday.<\/li>\n<li>Select <b>Leave<\/b> if the day should be treated as a day of leave.<\/li>\n<li>Select <b>Absent<\/b> if the day should be marked as an unscheduled absence.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>2. Holiday Succeeding Leave<\/b>: This applies when a holiday falls immediately after your leave.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Select <b>Holiday<\/b> if the day should be treated as a holiday.<\/li>\n<li>Select <b>Leave<\/b> if the day should be treated as a day of leave.<\/li>\n<li>Select <b>Absent<\/b> if the day should be marked as an unscheduled absence.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>3. Holiday Falling Between Leave<\/b>: This applies when a holiday falls within a period of leave.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Select <b>Holiday<\/b> if the day should be treated as a holiday.<\/li>\n<li>Select <b>Leave<\/b> if the day should be treated as a day of leave.<\/li>\n<li>Select <b>Absent<\/b> if the day should be marked as an unscheduled absence.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Once you have set your preferences, click <b>Save<\/b> to apply the changes.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3><b>LWP Settings<\/b><\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>LWP stands for <b>Leave Without Pay<\/b> and these settings control how your system handles LWP situations.<\/p>\n<p><b>1. Allow leave application with insufficient leave balance<\/b>:<\/p>\n<p>Use the toggle switch to enable or disable this feature.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>If enabled<\/b>, an employee can apply for leave even if they have an insufficient balance. The remaining days will be automatically converted to LWP.<\/li>\n<li><b>If disabled<\/b>, an employee can only apply for leave if their leave balance is sufficient to cover the entire duration of the request.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>From the dropdown menu, you can <b>choose the leave type<\/b> to be considered for LWP.<\/p>\n<p><b>2. Consider leaves falling between holidays as LWP<\/b>:<\/p>\n<p>Use the toggle switch to enable or disable this feature.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>If enabled<\/b>, and an employee applies for leave on the days between two holidays, all the days (including the holidays) will be considered LWP.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>From the dropdown menu, you can <b>choose the leave type<\/b> to be considered for LWP.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-1 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:100%\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table is-style-regular has-small-font-size\"><table><tbody><tr><td class=\"has-text-align-left\" data-align=\"left\">Policy<\/td><td>Option Selected<\/td><td>Scenario \/ Result<\/td><\/tr><tr><td class=\"has-text-align-left\" data-align=\"left\" rowspan=\"3\">1) Holiday preceding leave<\/td><td>Holiday<\/td><td>Your leave request for a Monday is a 1-day absence, as the preceding holiday on Friday is not included.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td class=\"has-text-align-left\" data-align=\"left\">Leave<\/td><td>Your leave request for a Monday is a 4-day leave because it includes the preceding holiday on Friday and the weekend in between.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td class=\"has-text-align-left\" data-align=\"left\">Absent<\/td><td>Your leave request for a Monday will result in both the Monday and the preceding Friday holiday being marked as Absent.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td class=\"has-text-align-left\" data-align=\"left\" rowspan=\"3\">2) Holiday succeeding leave<\/td><td>Holiday<\/td><td>Your leave request for a Friday is a 3-day absence (including the weekend), and the succeeding holiday on Monday is not included.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td class=\"has-text-align-left\" data-align=\"left\">Leave<\/td><td>Your leave request for a Friday is a 4-day leave because it includes the succeeding weekend and the holiday on the following Monday.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td class=\"has-text-align-left\" data-align=\"left\">Absent<\/td><td>Your leave request for a Friday will result in the following Monday holiday being marked as Absent.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td class=\"has-text-align-left\" data-align=\"left\" rowspan=\"3\">3) Holiday falling between leave<\/td><td>Holiday<\/td><td>If a holiday falls in the middle of your leave, it will not be counted as a leave day, and your leave balance will be deducted for the working days only.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td class=\"has-text-align-left\" data-align=\"left\">Leave<\/td><td>If a holiday falls in the middle of your leave, it will be counted as a leave day, and your leave balance will be deducted for the full duration of your request.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td class=\"has-text-align-left\" data-align=\"left\">Absent<\/td><td>If a holiday falls in the middle of your leave, it will be marked as Absent, even though you had leave approved for the surrounding days.<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u00a0 Leave &gt; Holiday Policy Holiday Policy &nbsp; The Holiday Policy section determines how your leave is handled when it&#8217;s taken in conjunction with a holiday.
