The more frames you have per second, the larger the file size. Anything above 20FPS is good.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Resolution (Length x Height) is important when you capture writing on whiteboard etc. Keep height above 360.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sound &#8211; Normally phones capture high-quality stereo sound. For our purposes, mono (single channel) at 30kHz is sufficient.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Data rate or Bit-Rate. The file size is ultimately decided by bit-rate. Keeping this around 600kbps (kilobits per second) is recommended.\u00a0 1hr video will be 270MB at this bitrate. If you want a much smaller file size, it&#8217;s better to reduce FPS (video will not be smooth, but your whiteboard should be readable).<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If the file size is too big, you can compress the recorded live lecture to reduce the size. The file size is determined by bitrate. Usually, 600 kbps (kilobytes per second) is recommended as the ideal size of the file. <\/span><\/p>\n<p>Follow the below steps to compress a recorded lecture which is too big in a laptop\/desktop before uploading in the NLP library.\u00a0<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Download VLC media player from <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.videolan.org\/vlc\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">https:\/\/www.videolan.org\/vlc\/<\/span><\/a><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Open VLC and click on Media and select \u201cConvert\/Save\u201d.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-3494\" src=\"https:\/\/helpcenter.nexterp.in\/helpcenter\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/image8.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1920\" height=\"1080\" \/><br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Add the file to be compressed and click on \u201cConvert\/Save\u201d.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-3498\" src=\"https:\/\/helpcenter.nexterp.in\/helpcenter\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/image7.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1920\" height=\"1080\" \/><br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Click on \u201cCreate a new profile\u201d.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-3499\" src=\"https:\/\/helpcenter.nexterp.in\/helpcenter\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/image2.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1920\" height=\"1080\" \/><br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Profile creation\u00a0<\/span>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Select \u201cMP4\/MOV\u201d under Encapsulation segment.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Select \u201cVideo\u201d checkbox under Video Codec segment and select \u201cCodec\u201d as H-264, \u201cBitrate\u201d as 600kb\/s(minimum recommended rate).<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Select \u201cAudio\u201d and \u201cKeep original audio track\u201d checkboxes under Audio Codec segment and click on \u201cCreate\u201d.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-3500\" src=\"https:\/\/helpcenter.nexterp.in\/helpcenter\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/image9-1.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1920\" height=\"1080\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-3501\" src=\"https:\/\/helpcenter.nexterp.in\/helpcenter\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/image6.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1920\" height=\"1080\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-3503\" src=\"https:\/\/helpcenter.nexterp.in\/helpcenter\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/image5.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1920\" height=\"1080\" \/><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Select the newly created profile(The saved profile can be used later for other videos). Select the Destination folder and give the compressed file a new name.
