Follow the steps below to set up Terms, Assessments, Subjects, and Activity-level settings in the Exam Hierarchy.
Step 1: Log In
Log in to your NextOS account using School Admin or Exam Coordinator credentials.
Step 2: Map Classes to Terms
- Navigate to Settings > Administration > School Setup > Academics Term
- Create and Map the required Classes to their respective Terms, ensuring the Term dates are correctly defined as per class requirements.
Step 3: Create or Map Subjects
- Navigate to Settings > Student > Examination > Subject Setup
- Ensure required scholastic & co-scholastic subjects are mapped to classess.
Tip : Add any new subjects using “+” button if any required subject is not available in the list.
Step 4: Create the Exam Hierarchy
- Navigate to Settings > Student > Examination, open Exam Hierarchy.
- Select the class you want to configure.
- Click โ+โ under Assessment.
- Enter the Assessment Name (e.g., PT1), set the Sequence, and select the Grading Scale.
Tip : Grading scales can be customize from Grade System under Examination settings. - Click Proceed, then Finish to save.
- Repeat this process for more assessments creation under each term.
Note : Sequence no. for each assessment should be unique.


Step 5: Map Subjects to Assessment
- Click on three dots, and select Import Subject to bring all the created subjects.
- Next follow the on screen instruction to include or exclude subjects in Report Card.
Tip : You need to define the subject activities to open the marks/grade entry.

Step 6: Configure Subjects Activities
- Select a Subject.
- Click on Add Activity.
- Set the Input Type to Mark or Grade.
- Select the appropriate Grading Scale.
- Enter the Activity Name, Give the Sequence.
- Enter the Maximum Marks, Save the configuration.
- Repeat this for all the subjects one by one.
Tip : Sequence should always start from 1 for the first activity, and should be unique for each activity.
This completes the setup of Terms, Subjects, Exam Hierarchy, Assessments, Subjects, and Activity-level configurations for your classes.
