If a subject teacher cannot access the marks entry page, there are usually two main causes:
- The subject is not mapped to them, or
- Marks entry is locked or frozen.
Follow the steps below to resolve both issues.
Step 1: Verify and Update Subject Teacher Mapping
- Navigate to Settings > Staff > Staff.
- Click on Subject Teacher Mapping.
- Select the class and section where the teacher is facing the issue.
- Review if the teacher is mapped to the respective subject.
- If not mapped, click Add Staff, search for the staff member, and assign them to the subject.
Note: Subject mapping is required for teachers to view and enter marks for that subject. Without mapping, the marks entry option will not appear for them.
Step 2: Verify marks entry lock/freeze settings
- Navigate to Settings > Student > Examination.
- Click on General Settings.
- Check the following options:
- Lock Marks Entry — Prevents new entries after a set date.
- Freeze Marks Entry — Blocks all edits and updates to existing marks.
- If either option is enabled, disable it to restore marks entry access.
Conclusion:
Once the teacher is properly mapped to their subject and marks entry is unlocked, they will be able to access and update marks without any restrictions.
