If an optional subject is not appearing for a student or teacher, it is usually due to incorrect optional subject mapping or subject teacher mapping. Use the steps below to diagnose and fix the issue.
Student-Level Check
- Navigate to Settings > Student > Examination > Optional Subject Mapping.
- Select the Class, Section, set Type as Optional Subject Mapping, and choose the Term(s).
- Review the list of optional subjects and ensure the student is correctly mapped to the required subject.
- If not mapped, tick the checkbox for the subject.
- Click Save to apply the changes.
Result:
If the issue was due to incorrect subject mapping, the optional subject will now be visible to the student.

Staff-Level Check
- Navigate to Settings > Staff > Staff > Subject Teacher Mapping.
- Open Teacher-wise, and search for the teacher’s name.
- Go to the specific class where the subject is not appearing for the teacher.
- Check if the radio button next to the optional subject is selected.
- If not selected, update it accordingly for all the required classes.
- Click Save to apply changes.
Result:
Once the teacher is properly mapped to the optional subject, it will reflect in their subject list.
