You can update the grading scale either by editing the Grade System directly or by changing the assigned grade system within the Examination Hierarchy. Choose the method that matches your requirement.
Scenario 1: Editing the Grade System Directly
If you want to modify the grading scale parameters, follow these steps:
- Navigate to Settings > Student > Examination > Grade System.
- Locate the grade system used for classes VI–VIII (or any classes).
- Click the Pen (Edit) icon.
- Make the required updates to the grading scale.
- Click Save.
Use this option when the grading scale itself needs adjustment (e.g., changing grade ranges, labels, or calculation settings).

Scenario 2: Changing the Grading System via Examination Hierarchy
If you want to assign a different or newly created grading scale to the class:
- Go to Settings > Student > Examination > Examination Hierarchy.
- Select the Class.
- You can update the grading system at any of the following levels:
- Term Level
- Assessment Level
- Subject Level
- Activity Level
- Rubric Level
- Click the three dots (︙) next to the level where you want to change the grading system.
- Follow the on-screen steps and save the changes.
Tip:
If you update the Term Level and select “Use same Grade System for all levels below”, the system will automatically apply the new grading scale to all lower levels—saving time and avoiding manual changes.
This depends on how the school prefers to generate their examination reports or report cards. For example, if grades are calculated at the term level, then the grading system should be configured at the term level. Similarly, configure the grading system at the assessment or subject level if grades are calculated there.

Important: If Marks Are Already Entered
If marks or grades are already entered at the Activity or Rubric level, the grading system cannot be changed directly.
To update the grading system in such cases:
- Delete the existing mark entries for the Activity or Rubric.
- Update the grading system in the Examination Hierarchy.
- Re-upload the marks afterward
⚠️ Warning:
Deleting marks is permanent. Always take a backup or export of all mark entries before making changes.
