How to check the bounced email report?

> Communication > Communication reports > Bounced email report

There are two different kinds of reports. One is the Bounced Email Report to have the list of all the recipients for which a specific email message has got bounced. Second is the Bounced Email Count Report to have the list of email IDs with the number of emails bounced out of the total sent emails.

Bounced Email Report:

  1. Under the tab Bounced Email Report, select a date (Mandatory).
  2. Enter the subject name
  3. Enter the Message Composer Name in the “Composed by” field
  4. Click SUBMIT.

Bounced Email Count Report:

  1. Click on Bounced Email Count Report in the yellow header at the top.
  2. Select a date range.
  3. Select the recipient type.
  4. Click SUBMIT.
All the email IDs of the chosen recipient types will be listed down for which bounced emails have been recorded in the selected date range. Count of bounced emails can be seen for the Number of emails sent to those email IDs.

Reason of bouncing could be one of the followings:

  1. the recipient’s inbox is full, or
  2. the recipient does not allow some specific type of message content, or
  3. some email providers may reject messages with attachments of a certain file type, or
  4. messages with very large content and attachments
In such cases, the recipients need to be told to do the needful by clearing up the inbox and reconfiguring the attachments & message content related settings.

How to make effective use of this report?
This report is useful to remove or update the existing email IDs for which the emails are getting bounced.  It can be used to send the bounced email message in the form of SMS or notification, if possible, to those recipients having mobile numbers.

  3. In the downloaded bounced email report of parents/guardians recipient type, filter the list by class-sections.
  4. Find the student names in the student list that matches the name in the bounced email report and update the email ID field.
  5. Upload the student list with the updated information.
