NLP allows to set Shift Deviation Rule for first check-in and last check-out and also set these additional criteria:
- Set the number of deviations allowed for a week,or month
- Once the number of deviations exceeds, set the number of leaves that must be deducted, from which leave types, and in what order.
To enable Shift deviation rule:
1. Go to Settings > Staff > Attendance > Shift Deviation Rule
2. Select the shift for which you want to configure (The shift details displayed here are synchronized with the shifts set up on the Attendance Shifts page.)
3. Choose “Consider as deviation” to specify whether the rule applies to late in, early out or both.
4. Enter the number of deviations allowed and select the period within which it is allowed – week or month.
5. You can also consider deviations that occur on the multiples of the input number.
6. Select the number of leaves to be deducted, once the allowed deviation exceeds.
7. Enter the leave type from which leave is to be deducted.
8. Enter additional leave types from which leave must be deducted either once the leave balance lapses or when it is in deficit.
9. Click on save to save the rule.
10. Click on add rule to configure another rule for the same shift.
Example 1:
The school wants to configure a rule for the General Shift.
Rule 1: “Late In” during the General Shift: if there are more than 2 instances of being late per week, deduct 0.5 days from the casual leave type.
Based on the above configuration, more than two occurrences will lead to leave deduction.
Day |
Attendance entry |
Rule implication |
Monday |
Check-in late by 15 minutes |
1st deviation |
Tuesday |
Check-in late by 30 minutes |
2nd deviation |
Thursday |
Check-in late by 19 minutes |
0.5 days of casual leave deducted |
Friday |
Check-in late by 20 minutes |
Marked as Absent ( casual leave balance lapsed) |
Example 2:
The school wants to configure a rule for the General Shift.
Rule 1: Configure “Both” “Late In” and “Early out” during the General Shift in one rule: if there are more than 2 instances of being late per week, deduct 0.5 days from the casual leave type.
Based on the above configuration, more than two combined occurrences will lead to leave deduction.
Day |
Attendance entry |
Rule implication |
Monday |
Check-in late by 15 minutes |
1st deviation |
Tuesday |
Check-out early by 30 minutes |
2nd deviation |
Friday |
Check-in late by 19 minutes |
0.5 days of casual leave deducted |
Friday |
Check-out early by 20 minutes |
0.5 days of casual leave deducted |
Example 3:
The school wants to configure two rules for the same shift.
Rule 1: “Late In” during the General Shift: if there are more than 2 instances of being late per week, deduct 0.5 days from the casual leave type.
Rule 2: “Early out” during the General Shift: if there are more than 1 instances of leaving early per week, deduct 0.5 days from the casual leave type.
Based on the above configuration, more than two occurrences will lead to leave deduction for each rule.
Rule 1:
Day |
Attendance entry |
Rule implication |
Monday |
Check-in late by 15 minutes |
1st deviation |
Tuesday |
Check-in late by 30 minutes |
2nd deviation |
Friday |
Check-in late by 19 minutes |
0.5 days of casual leave deducted |
Friday |
Check-in late by 20 minutes |
Marked as Absent ( casual leave balance lapsed) |
Rule 2:
Day |
Attendance entry |
Rule implication |
---|---|---|
Monday |
Check-out early by 15 minutes |
1st deviation |
Tuesday |
Check-out early by 30 minutes |
0.5 days of casual leave deducted |
Thursday |
Check-out early by 20 minutes |
0.5 days of casual leave deducted |
Example 4:
The school wants to configure a deviation rule on “Multiples” for the General Shift.
Rule 1: “Late In” during the General Shift: if there are deviations that occur on the multiples of 2, deduct 0.5 days from the casual leave type.
Based on the above configuration, deviations that occur on the multiples of 2 will lead to leave deduction.
Day |
Attendance entry |
Rule implication |
Monday |
Check-in late by 15 minutes |
1st deviation |
Tuesday |
Check-in late by 30 minutes |
2nd deviation (multiple of 2) 0.5 days of casual leave deducted |
Thursday |
Check-in late by 19 minutes |
3rd deviation |
Friday |
Check-in early by 20 minutes |
4th deviation (multiple of 2) 0.5 days of casual leave deducted |
Note:
- Once the leave balance lapses, ‘Absent’ will be Marked.
- When there are two rules, the sum of deducted leaves cannot exceed 1.
