What is the process to replace or delete a subject from the hierarchy?

To replace or delete a subject from the Exam Hierarchy, you must first remove any existing marks for that subject. Once marks are cleared, you can delete the subject and import a new one if needed.

Step 1: Delete Marks for the Subject

Before making any hierarchy changes, ensure no marks are entered for the subject. If entered follow the steps to delete them :

  1. Navigate to Student > Examination > Marks Entry.
  2. Select the Class, Section, Term, Assessment, and Subject.
  3. Locate the student(s) and delete all marks entered for that subject.
  4. Click Proceed to save the changes.

Step 2: Delete Subject from Exam Hierarchy

  1. Navigate to Settings > Student > Examination > Exam Hierarchy.
  2. Select the Term and Assessment.
  3. Click the three dots (︙) at the Subject Level.
  4. Select Delete.
  5. The subject will now be removed from the Exam Hierarchy.

Step 3: Import a New Subject (If Replacing)

If you have created a new subject under Subject Setup, you can now import it.

  1. At the Assessment Level, click the three dots (︙).
  2. Select Import Subject.
  3. Newly created subjects will appear—select the required one(s).
  4. Import and proceed with configuring the examination structure (activities, input type, grading scale, marks, etc.).
