What is the purpose of the “Adhoc” option in master fee types?

We can create Fee type by following path :

setting >> finance >> fee >> Fee type >> New fee type 

Adhoc fee do not have installments , it can be added directly during fee collection .

User can add the fee to any student of mapped class at the time of payment collection .
