You can create a Fee Type by following the path:
Settings > Finance > Fee > Fee Type > New Fee Type
Optional fee types can be used for alumni fees, student opening balance, and refundable deposits, depending on what you select during creation.
If you mark the fee type as Optional, the created fee type will only be applicable to those students who are mapped to that optional fee type.
