Admin and Principal are Chat Monitors by default. They can monitor all conversations without being added anywhere.
Any other staff member can be made a monitor in two ways:
- For a group — added explicitly to that one group. SeeHow to add a Chat Monitor to a group?
- For one-to-one chats — defined by department or class-section. SeeHow to monitor one-to-one chats?
The two are set up separately. Being a monitor for a group does not give access to one-to-one chats, and the reverse is also true.
Note: A monitor can read messages. Sending a message in a group is possible only if Monitor can send messages is turned on in that group’s Settings.
