Stage-level gating controls when an admission can enter and leave a stage. A stage with criteria shows a Gated tag in the STAGES panel.
| Criteria | What it checks | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Entry criteria | Steps from earlier stages are complete before the admission can enter | Registration fee collected before Evaluation |
| Exit criteria | Steps from earlier or current stages are complete before the admission can leave | Documents verified before leaving Registration |
Each condition names a step and the status it must reach, for example must be Collected (fee), must be Verified (documents) or must be Completed (task).
